Whether it is to learn the basics or to better define your techniques, The Hammer Works Metal Shaping Courses cab deliver the skills and knowledge necessary to help you build and shape that dream of yours.
Learn skills in hand-forming panels for custom work, auto body repair, Hot Rods and auto restoration.
Develop skills to complete panels for bodywork, bike tanks and the tricks to compound curves.
Gain knowledge in the use of specialised metal shaping tools and machinery such as rollers, English Wheel, shrinkers and many more as well as a familiarity of different techniques used for shaping aluminium, steel and brass; All in an expertly equipped workspace.
With more than 35 years specialised experience in the fabrication and restoration of custom and vintage vehicles, The Hammer Works Metal Shaping courses will teach you tried and true methods and basic know-how to set the foundation of your metal shaping goals.
Participants can look forward to learning metal shaping know-how in small, focussed and friendly groups that allow 1:1 guidance and expertise training.
Courses are suitable for all age groups and skills levels, whether it be to learn some basic techniques or to help you master the skills to finish off a small prioject that you have in the pipeline.

1:1 Private Tuition
Do you have a project underway that you would love to finish but do not know how to get there?
Is there something that you would like to start and need a jumping off point?
Do you want to further your interest in metalshaping in a more intense way with one to one tuition?
You can start a new project or complete an old one with superior guidance, learning new skills along the way.
1:1 tuition is available to all students from beginners to advanced, with the ability to structure your days as you need to meet your interests.
Classes will be on a per day basis, with discounts available for weekly and monthly blocks.

What to expect from your
group metalshaping class
Classes run from
8:30am to 4:30pm.
Groups consist of small focussed groups of 5 -10 people.
During the class students can expect to learn:
- How to read the shapes of sheet metal panels.
- How to shrink sheet metal using basic hand tools and mechanical methods.
- How to stretch sheet metal without damage.
- How to do reverse and compound curves.
- How to use the English Wheel.
- How to Planish and file finish.
- How to use post dollies.
- How to make flexible shape patterns and bucks.
- STUDENTS MUST HAVE SUBMITTED THEIR SIGNED ENROLMENT FORMS ALONG WITH FULL PAYMENT NO LESS THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE INTENDED CLASS -or- ADMITTANCE WILL BE REFUSED -
Payments are accepted in the form of direct deposit bank transfer, cheque or money order prior to the date of class. If paying by cash it is the students responsibility to attend the workshop prior to the day of class to submit all forms and payment, any late payments will only be accepted at the discretion of the manager.

Students are expected to prepare themselves by reading and
adhering to the following:
- Closed in Boots - preferably steel capped boots.
- No loose jewellery.
- Long pants and long sleeve shirt.
- Safety glasses must be worn in all situations where appropriate.
- Whilst in the workshop environment we advise that any valuables eg mobile phones, be stored in your vehicle or not brought into the premises as damages or loss will not be covered.
- Whilst tea, coffee and some snacks are provided, students will need to bring lunch with them.
A fridge will be made available for storage of lunch. Please make sure you bring an adequate lunch as you will be working hands on and your concentrations is a must.
- It is to be noted that students will be in an environment that contains an element of risk. It is to be understood that students are aware of and agree to the risks involved (by submission of enrolment and payment prior to arrival to the premises on class day). The HammerWorks advises all students to adhere to the standards listed above and understand that thier safety will be their resonsibility.
Notebooks and pens will be provided.
